Overview
A blood donation matching platform built with a Scrum team as part of a software engineering course.
Problem
Hospitals and patients often face challenges during blood shortages due to the difficulty of quickly identifying and connecting with compatible nearby donors. The lack of an efficient coordination system can delay access to critical blood supplies and make emergency response more challenging for healthcare providers and communities.
Solution
A PHP/MySQL-based web application designed to improve blood donation coordination by connecting donors with urgent blood requests based on blood type and location. The platform includes role-based dashboards that provide tailored access and management features for different users, enabling more efficient communication between donors, patients, and healthcare stakeholders.
Impact
Demonstrated a functional donor matching workflow developed through a 4-sprint Scrum project, applying agile methodologies with defined team roles, sprint planning, reviews, and collaboration practices to successfully deliver and refine the system.
